On Wednesday 9th December, Fluid decided to spread a little Christmas cheer to its teams with a Christmas jumper day to raise funds for The Trussell Trust - the charity who support a nationwide network of food banks across the UK. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic there has been an increase in distribution of emergency food parcels by 47% between April and September this year.
Things are understandably a little different at Fluid this year too, as most of our teams are working from home with limited numbers in our office locations. However, the team came together, donned their festive sweaters, submitted their photos and donated much needed funds to the charity.
Here's just a few pics of some of the fantastic outfits our Fluid Family donned for this year's Christmas Jumper Day...
Nice one team!
For their donations, and after its raging success during this year's International Week of Happiness at Work, each team member was entered into an internal game show - “Wheely Happy” - which was broadcast live on Zoom. Names were picked from a hat, and the lucky candidates had a chance of winning several prizes (and booby prizes) via a spin of the happy wheel!
Here are the hosts of Wheely Happy - marketing department team members Jess Patton and Kate Cadby - gearing up for the live show!
As mentioned, the money we raised for the day will be donated to The Trussell Trust, helping towards their fantastic Hunger Free Future campaign. Through this campaign, the charity are aiming to build a future where nobody needs to go without the basics, this Christmas and beyond.
And what a success the fundraising efforts became - the team raised a fantastic £520.00!
But that's not all. As part of our commitment to the wider community, Fluid have set up a Charity & Community Project Match Funding scheme, which means that £520.00 has been match funded by Fluid - raising the total to a whopping £1040.00!
Thanks to the incredible generousity of a group of Trussell Trust supporters, all money donated in the run up to this Christmas will be doubled - swelling our donation even further to an amazing £2080.00! Our thanks to this amazing group of people.
And just before we go, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and a healthy and successful 2021!
