Fluid helps the Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal for the Disasters Emergency Committee

After the devastating news that a series of earthquakes had hit southern Turkey and northwest Syria, Fluid wanted to do whatever they could to help those in desperate need of aid.

Hundreds of buildings have been destroyed, with millions of people in need of urgent shelter, food and medical aid. Aid that can’t be accessed without funds.

That’s why Fluid Future’s group purposed an internal open donation to support the Disasters Emergency Committee’s work in Turkey and Syria.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) charities and their local partners are among the first responders, supporting locally-led relief efforts. Their immediate priorities are medical treatment for the injured, shelter for those who have lost their homes, heaters for spaces and winter kits with blankets, and warm clothes, and ensuring people have food and clean water.

Currently, 14 DEC charities and their local partners are working with locally-led relief efforts to help survivors. Any money raised goes towards these key areas of survival and enables the charities to scale their approach to reach more people.

With the Disasters Emergency Committee, a donation of £10 could provide blankets to keep two people warm, whereas a donation of £50 could provide emergency shelter for two families.

Fluid would like to announce that they’ve managed to raise an amazing £268.49 internally for this much-needed cause. Plus, due to their match-funding scheme, this will be doubled for the total donation of a whopping £536.98!

That’s enough to provide emergency shelter for 20 families, or 106 people warm - an amazing impact.

Fluid would like to thank everyone who donated and helped to make this donation possible.
