Who is Lux Luz?
A social enterprise by trade, Lux Luz is busy creating eco-soy scented candles and reed diffusers where 100% of the profits are given to projects supporting women affected by domestic violence.
LUX LUZ literally means ‘light’ in Latin and Spanish - a perfect name for a brand seeking to offer both comfort and care to victims of domestic violence.
Lux Luz’s Mission
Ultimately, Luz Luz’s mission is to help bring comfort to women who find themselves in situations that can feel hopeless.
Its ethos: to create candles that help you to be kind to yourself, to others and to the environment.
Being kind to yourself
Self-care is important. It’s good to prioritise caring for your mental, emotional and physical health when you can. Lux Luz’s candles are the perfect reminder to take a moment to be kind to yourself.
Being kind to others
Sadly, those in domestic abuse situations rarely have time for self-care. That’s why Lux Luz helps fund emergency nights in refuges as well as longer-term recovery activities for women who have escaped from domestic abuse. Also, 100% of their profits are given to projects supporting women affected by domestic violence.
Being kind to the environment
Lux Luz’s candles are made from sustainably farmed eco-soy wax, so they’re safe for the environment, too. Eco-soy is produced from the oil obtained from soya beans, which is then purified and solidified into wax. This means that it’s fully biodegradable and contains no pesticides or herbicides.
