Bringing a little Christmas cheer...

This Christmas, Fluid employees decided not to spend their money on gifts for each other, but instead donated to a very worthy cause.

We are delighted to be able to donate £250 this year to the food bank. Half of which was raised by donations from Fluid employees, and the other half was match-funded by Fluid Branding.

Food Bank donations

1 in 5 of the UK population lives below the poverty line. It’s a shocking statistic.

And at a time of year when we take for granted the comforts we have, and get a little carried away with spending unnecessarily, it’s good to sit back and have a think about how we can help those who aren’t as fortunate.

Food banks across the nation are run entirely by volunteers, and are a critical emergency source of food for those in need - not just at Christmas but all through the year.

Donating money to the St Austell foodbank, rather than food, allows the volunteers to buy the specific things they’re short of, at times when food donations are less abundant.

We also donated much-needed food items to a foodbank in Bury St Edmunds and a social supermarket, Lucie’s Pantry, in Manchester.

Donating reusable coffee cups

Alongside all of our donations, we recently found ourselves with a surplus of reusable coffee cups.

Due to a mix-up on a customer order, these particular cups were no longer needed, so rather than send them off to landfill, we put them to good use and donated them to the food bank too!

They were very well received and have been used to provide our foodbank users with hot drinks and hot soup when they visit, and to take away with them to keep and reuse.
